MISCELLANEOUS PHOTOS

These were pictures I didn't know where else to put .... so they get their own page !
This is our Race Shop.
In the foreground is my brother Mike's Street Stock Dodge Truck.
Then there is my SprintCar, and then my Modified.
I've always been an "open trailer" kinda guy.
Easy to load, easy to tow, easy to wash the car on.
However, in July 2003, after dragging the Modified and the SprintCar through several weeks of the wettest Florida summer in a decade, my Sponsor
Atlantic Dodge finally gave into my begging and purchased me this 30' enclosed trailer that can haul either the Mod or the Sprint or, in a pinch, BOTH.

If you have the ability (and the desire) to look close, this is one of the last longhair pictures of me before I cleaned my hippy self up.
This is "the Griz".
It's a 1998 600cc 4x4 Yamaha Grizzly.
It's what we use to push start the SprintCar, haul tires and fuel,
it does dang near anything.
See the truck and trailer above ?
It pulled that Dually and trailer out of a mudhole one night.
No Shit.
The Griz ROCKS !
Good thing  Atlantic Dodge bought me that enclosed trailer above .... mid summer 03 a lil Florida thunderstorm dropped a tree on my beloved open trailer.
Actually, everything but the tire rack survived ......
THIS is why open trailers are handy - sometimes you scatter enough parts
that you both have a hard time loading the carcass,
and you need the space to cut and paste on what remains.
This particular situation was when I spun down the backstretch at Putnam after contact with another car, and when I stopped dead sideways Robby Barris (completely not his fault) PASTED me.
It was the first time we really met, both
accident wise and when we discussed things later.
A rather crappy start to our very cool friendship.
In 2001, Marlboro came to a Bar and Grill that sponsored my Modified at the time with a racing video game. Fast time for the night won a very nice Hamilton Wristwatch, and the fastest 10 in the Country got a trip to Colorado for a Marlboro Racing School event at Pike's Peak.
As an employee / instructor of the Skip Barber Racing School, I asked again and again if I was actually allowed to enter the contest ... they said "not a problem".
So I took their watch and a few weeks later got the call - I was going to Colorado.
Because the average bar patron will both damage car and self when given the chance, it was more a ride-around then a real driving school - something I totally understand - but we stayed at a 4 star Hotel, ate like kings, and that's Indy 500 Champ Rick Mears I am standing next to above!!!!
HOW AWESOME !!!!
I don't encourage ANYONE to smoke - but if you do, thanks for sponsoring that trip !!!!
